Carrie Tower

Brown University's Carrie Tower in real LEGO parts, the centrepiece of its corner of the green: the red-brick campanile with five deep grooves up each face, on a pale limestone base with its benches, festoons and narrow door up three steps; the four verdigris clocks, stopped at twelve, under a bracketed cornice; the balustrade and its urns, and the open belvedere of clustered columns under a small green dome. Around it, lawn and paths, shade trees and a tree in blossom, the black iron fence between brick piers along Waterman and Prospect Streets, lamp posts, benches and a tour group. Inside, the vestibule with the memorial plaque, an iron spiral stair up the shaft, the clock room with the movement and its rods out to all four dials, and the old bells at the top.
