The Lantern Church

The Lantern Church in real LEGO parts: a modern church of warm tan stucco, its entrance a tall glass prow over a deep canopy on round columns, three faces of green glass braced in gray rising into a steep glazed gable crowned with a slim white cross. Two-story wings either side under flat roofs with gray copings, an arched green window in each and glass storefronts below. Around it, a tan entrance court with gray walks, beds of red, yellow and white flowers, and leafy trees at both front corners. Inside, a Sunday morning: a greeter in the bright atrium under a lantern hung from the ridge; the sanctuary three steps up, with a tall white cross in the wall, the communion table, pulpit and font, a grand piano and rows of chairs under hanging lamps; the fellowship hall over coffee, and upstairs a Sunday-school class and the church office.
