Rose Island Light in real LEGO parts: the white clapboard keeper's house of 1870 under a gray slate mansard with two rust-red bands and arched white dormers, its brick chimney, and the square white tower rising from the roof to a black gallery and lantern, the lens inside under a domed cap. The house stands on the old fort's stone wall, railed in white, with the flag and deck chairs on top; below it the brick fog-signal house and its wooden steps, rock ledges, a strip of sand and the water of Narragansett Bay. Inside, as it was about 1912: the parlor with its player piano, the kitchen with the range and the cat, the pantry pump, bedrooms under the mansard, a ladder up the tower through the watch room to the lens, and the keeper's son at the engine in the fog-signal house.
