Conimicut Light

Conimicut Light in real LEGO parts: the cast-iron “sparkplug” light of 1883 on its shoal off Warwick, where the Providence River meets Narragansett Bay. A reddish-brown caisson in a ring of granite riprap; on it a covered porch round the first story, its roof edge grown over with grass; the white tower in banded tiers with small arched windows, the bracketed black gallery, the watch room, the lantern and its lens, and the tall antenna beside it. A gray iron stair runs down to the landing on its piles, in dark blue water with a grassy shore round the base. Inside, a winter evening about 1890: the cellar with its cistern and coal, the kitchen range, the living room by the stove, a spiral stair up to the bedroom, the assistant keeper's room, and the keeper at his log in the watch room.
