Voxeloom Made to build. Meant to keep.

Design Workshop · Live on Zoom with us

Be your own designer.

In three live sessions, all in one week, you turn your photographs into your own LEGO® set. You make the choices, and you watch each one worked out in real LEGO pieces, live on screen. Then you order the LEGO® bricks from LEGO yourself, and build it.

The house you grew up in, the cottage by the water, the church where it all began. No experience and no software needed: a computer or tablet with Zoom is enough.

Design Workshop

$499

  • Three live sessions on Zoom, 50 minutes each, all in one week
  • Your own LEGO® design, up to about 5,000 pieces
  • The instructions, the parts list, LEGO’s Upload List and bag labels
  • 30 days of email help after the last session
  • $250 off a full set of your design, if you order one from us within 60 days

Not included: the LEGO® bricks. You order them yourself from LEGO’s Pick a Brick shop with your Upload List, and pay LEGO for the bricks, their shipping and any tax: typically $300–$650 for a design this size.

Three sessions, all in one week

Your pixel, your design, your set.

1
Your pixel · 50 minutes

Your photographs and the story behind them. We put them through our design studio while you watch, as voxels and then in LEGO® bricks, and decide together how big it should be, what must be kept, and whether you want the whole building, its front, or the rooms inside too.

2
Your design · 50 minutes

A day or two later, your design in real digital LEGO pieces. We turn it round and look inside together, and you choose: the colors, the roof, the door, the trees, the rooms and the people in them. Small changes are made while you watch; the rest before the last session.

3
Your set · 50 minutes

Your finished LEGO® design and everything you need to build it. We show you how to order your bricks from LEGO with the Upload List, how to sort them by bag, and the first steps of the instructions, and answer your questions.

Yours to keep

Everything a LEGO® builder needs

  • The instructions: a PDF booklet, step by step, generated from your finished design.
  • The parts list: every LEGO piece and color, with the bag each one goes in.
  • LEGO’s Upload List: the file that fills your Pick a Brick basket in one go.
  • Bag labels to print, for sorting the pieces before you build.
  • Your pictures: your LEGO® design from every side, lit at night, and cut open.
  • A designer’s eye, and the bragging rights: why a roof holds, why a window sits where it does, and a story to tell every time someone asks where you bought it. (“I designed it” never gets old. 🙂)

Then you build it

Order, sort, build

  1. You order the bricks from LEGO. Upload your list to LEGO’s Pick a Brick shop and it fills your basket with every piece. You check out and pay LEGO directly, for the bricks, their shipping and any tax.
  2. LEGO ships them to you, usually in one to two weeks. The pieces arrive loose, so the bag labels help you sort them.
  3. You build it, bag by bag, with your instructions.

Every piece in your design is one LEGO sells there, checked again on the day of your last session. If a piece sells out before you order, write to us and we will suggest a swap.

A full set from us, too? Order a full set of your design from us within 60 days of your last session — every LEGO® brick counted into numbered bags, with the instructions — and you receive $250 off its price. Instead of ordering the bricks yourself, or as a second set to give.

For LEGO® fans

For anyone who loves building with LEGO® bricks and has always wondered how a set is designed: see it done, from photograph to instructions.

A family project

Design it together on a Sunday afternoon, then build your LEGO® set together, bag by bag. It is how our own family works.

Your sessions are with us

A family at the workbench

We are the family behind Voxeloom. We built our design studio ourselves, and every set we design is checked piece by piece before it leaves us. Bring your photographs, your questions and the small details that make the place yours; you make the choices, and we work them out in real LEGO pieces with you. Meet the family.

Questions

Before you book

Do I need experience or software?

No. You need a computer or tablet with Zoom, your photographs and an idea of what you would like. We do the designing on our side, with you watching and choosing.

Can I design any building?

Anything up to about 5,000 pieces: the front of a house, a whole cottage, a small church or a lighthouse. A larger landmark, or a fully furnished interior of a big house, needs more design time, and we will tell you the price before you book.

Are the bricks included?

No. The $499 covers the three sessions and your design’s files only. You order the LEGO® bricks yourself from LEGO’s Pick a Brick shop with your Upload List, and pay LEGO for them, their shipping and any tax, when you are ready. LEGO sets the prices, the stock and the delivery, and limits how many of one piece you may buy at once. We do not sell or ship bricks for the workshop, unless you order a full set of your design from us.

How do I book and pay?

Tell us about your place. No payment is taken on this page. We reply within two working days to confirm what fits and send the Zoom link; you pay by check, and once it clears we book your three sessions, all within one week.

Are the sessions recorded?

Not unless you ask us to. Your photographs are used only for your design. See our privacy page.

Can I give it as a gift?

Yes. Tell us who it is for, and we will arrange the sessions with them.

Be your own designer

What would you design in LEGO® bricks?

A photograph and a few words are enough to start.
